Northwards Concerts
Northwards is a beautifully restored Herbert Baker designed home, built at the beginning of the last century for Mr Dale Lace, one of the Johannesburg mining magnates of the time. It is situated on the Parktown Ridge and has a superb view over northern Johannesburg as far as the Magaliesberg Mountains.
This extremely popular series of concerts has been running for 10 years and plays to full houses. There is a concert once a month, usually on the third Sunday of the month and give a platform to mostly South African artists with the occasional visiting soloist or group.
These concerts are supported by BHP Billiton, Oppenheimer Memorial Trust and the Northwards Trust, and Appletiser has provided their refreshing drink. The proceeds from the concerts go to supporting young talented South African artists in furthering their music studies and career.
