The Johannesburg International Mozart Festival.

As Franz Schubert put it: "O Mozart, immortal Mozart, how many, how infinitely many inspiring suggestions of a finer, better life have you left in our souls!" In 2006, to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, Richard Cock started a Mozart Festival in Johannesburg. In 2009, this became the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival with a greatly expanded range of concerts and activities. These range from solo recitals, chamber music concerts to symphony and choral concerts.

In 2009 Florian Uhlig became closely associated with this festival a artistic director and his international contacts will ensure a more international flavour for this event.

This festival is based in Gauteng, Johannesburg, mainly at the Linder Auditorium in Parktown and Northwards.

Following a suggestion by the Reverend Keith du Plessis in 1991, Songs of  Praise was first performed in the City Hall in Johannesburg in 1992. 

Sponsored by RMB, Starlight Classics is a larger event started by RMB in 1999 which has grown to be one of the highlights of the social calendar in both Gauteng and Cape Town.

These popular concerts are held in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth and Durban. They are a musical party following in the tradition of the Last Night of the PROMS which is held annually in the Albert Hall in London.

Kloof Rotary Pops

For the last 10 years or more, Richard has been involved with the Kloof Rotary in presenting their annual Kloof Rotary Pops in the Durban City Hall and more recently with their outdoor concert at Mokaranga Gardens in Kloof near Durban.
