Songs of Praise was first performed in the Albert Hall London, the idea has now spread throughout South Africa and each year about 10 performances take place. These range from smaller places with just piano or organ, to larger centres where a full symphony orchestra is used. It’s undoubted success hinges on the fact that with its wide range of music, it appeals to all ages and the differing musical taste of religious grouping and indeed, the general listener.
